Thank you for your feedback. Due to the cold start to this year, that has been the second coldest in half a century the growing season is about four weeks behind. Therefore you may yet find the Hawthorn and Holly bare root plants will prosper. I would suggest you scratch back with your finger nail a small amount of bark on a number of plants and if these are healthy this should reveal a green and moist surface. If the surface is dry and brittle the plants may have died, this can be due to a number of reasons including the watering regime followed. Please do keep us advised if the plants do not prosper and we can arrange to replace these in the next bare root season (October 2013 - April 2014), subject to you making a small contribution towards the cost of doing so. Thank you for your feedback. Photinia and particularly relatively young plants can be a very demanding to grow and prune into shape. Having inspected our stock from which your Photinia plants were selected and reviewed feedback from customers who have purchased plants (delivered from this same batch of stock) I am as yet unable to offer a conclusive response.
