Thank you for leaving the five star review. We are really happy that you and your small group enjoyed the trek. Thanks also for bringing the other points to our attention. We do mention the purchase of the two tickets and we like to remain flexible and buy them on the day as a group. We book half board in all the accommodations and there are no upgrades available, everybody eats the same meals unless there are any special dietary requirements. Tom is an outstanding guide and I’ll be sure to pass on your comment. I know he’ll be really pleased he loved guiding the group! We hope to welcome you again in the future. Thanks for taking the time to leave the review.

Hi Rob, many thanks for taking the time to feed back to us, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your Tour du Mont Blanc. I am perplexed by your comments, I would be grateful if you could contact me personally to explain your further. I can be contacted at sara@montblanctreks.com.
Tom is an extremely experienced guide, he will have given the group clear information regarding the route, the evening before at each briefing and during the trekking day, as and when he felt necessary.
With regard to the 'food situation', we have never before received comments such as these. Everyone expects on a trekking holiday, when in more remote locations the food provided will be a little more simple. However, to use the word 'inedible' is very surprising. I have guided the route many times and have never found this to be the case. During the day Tom makes a real effort to book mountain refuges so the group can stop and enjoy local, simple, wholesome cuisine. This also makes a welcome change from taking a picnic lunch. I hope you enjoyed that element of the trek.
We go to great lengths to provide all the necessary information regarding the fitness level required for the treks we offer. The itinerary describes the route and gives daily statistics, we have pages on our website that give detailed information regarding trek grades, fitness & preparation requirements. We send all clients likes to these pages. On the booking form we require clients to give previous experience. If we don't feel the experience is appropriate then we send out a questionnaire to ascertain further information. Once a client has booked on our trek we send a copy of the Cicerone guide book which outlines the multi-day hike in great detail. We also send a series of 'Fitness & Preparation' emails over the months prior to the trek to remind folks what they should be doing in order to arrive fully prepared. You and your group will have received all of the above, therefore, with regard to the booking & preparation process we really don't know what else we can do.
On occasion, when folks arrive unprepared, we have strict terms & conditions in place in order to help anyone that can't manage the challenge. Our priority is always with the majority of the group so it doesn't affect their experience. On your trek, Tom managed the situation perfectly and in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. The couple you are referring to where only allowed to hike on easier days, commensurate with their level of fitness, 2 days in total. On the first of those days they set off 2 hours earlier than the rest of the group so they didn't hinder everyone else. On the second of those days the couple walked with the group for the first half of the day, on easy terrain. From Issert, where the trail ascends up to Champex Lac, they took the bus, allowing your group to ascend at a normal pace. On the 8 other days they took public transport and did not walk with your group. We made every effort to ensure your group were not affected by this situation and at the same time allowed the couple to feel part of the group and enjoy some elements. We feel this is completely fair.
Please get in touch with me via email to give me more specific information regarding route decisions and food.
Kind regards from Chamonix,
Sara
The Hotels they use were all great. Most of them were as close to the trail as possible. No issues whatsoever. The detailed trip 'cards' or sheets with self guided instructions were usually accurate...

Hi James, many thanks for your feedback, I am so glad you had a great trip its so good to know.
With regard to the self guided pack, we strive to give the most detailed of information possible. The daily route cards are broken down into stages & give an overview of each section. They have been written by us, we guide the route each summer and know it very well. We feel that if we went into micro detail then it would take away the element of personal navigation, mountain hiking and navigational experience is a prerequisite of the self guided trek. The Cicerone guided book which is also provided also give a wealth of information. The map provided is the official IGN Tour du Mont Blanc Map and we do also suggest the iPhiGenie application to have on your phone which will not only give you 1:25,000 IGN mapping but will pinpoint your exact location even if you don't have phone signal. If you have found spelling errors with some of the towns then please let me know the exact detail, I am not sure how this has happened but we will correct straight away.
The Tour du Mont Blanc is a tough trek, the ascents and descents are challenging, 170 kilometres (106 miles) and 12,000 metres (33,000 ft) of hight gain and descent over 10 days says it all.
Kind regards from Chamonix & many thanks once again for your feedback and for trekking with MBT.

Hello Sara,
Thanks for your kind reply. We did not bring an app on our phone (which is something we should have done) so we relied heavily on the sheets for our daily treks. On the sheet titled "Les Houches to Contamines Champel", The sections 3,4,5 each list a village "Chapel". I believe it should read 'Champel' or 'Le Champel' as its lised on the map. I also checked this with a professional guide who we met at the hotel in Les Houches who indicated the spelling was wrong. There is a 'La Chapell farther down the trail but it is not on the route and also its spelled differently than the sheet.
On the sheet "Chapieux to Courmayeur", section 5 instructs to cross the bridge and walk to the refuge. I can't see any reason that that instruction. It leads to a refuge but off the trail and essentially the wrong way and opposite the remaining options. Also on that sheet "Casermata" should be 'Casermetta'. (as indicated on the map). On the sheet "Courmayeur to Chalet Val Ferret", The last section indicates "..continue eastwards until you see signs for Arnuva..." At that intersection, there are no signs for Arnuva. We had to ask fellow hikers to make sure we were taking the correct turn.
The sheet "La Fouly to Champex-LAC" There are some junctions (with no signage) that need clarification. Again, we had to ask fellow hikers if we were onthe correction route at such junctions. We didn't see a lot of pedestrian or WC signs at the beginning of our walking thru the town, so we followed the crowd to make our way thru.
Most days, the sheets were very accurate
