Hi Jo, Thanks for your review. It's a shame to hear you're unhappy with your mat. New mats will have excess lint to start with, even after the first wash. But they tend to settle down once they've had a bit of wear. I would recommend giving them a brush & a hoover to see if that helps initially. Muddy dog paws

I have a dog that loves mud her paws are always dirty this mat saves her carrying mud through onto my carpet. I have already washed it four times and it looks brand-new still
