Yes large transactions, particularly from overseas accounts, are subject to additional verification processes, just to ensure account safety. Happily it doesn’t delay things too much!

Oh dear, I'm glad to hear your sister was alright. Having passed this feedback onto the owner she confirmed the bed had been jumped on by some children earlier in the year who had dislodged some slats but those had been repaired and reinforced. The housekeeper has since reviewed the damage and taken appropriate measures. Many thanks for your feedback and glad to hear you had a wonderful time. Hopefully, we'll be able to welcome you back another year!

Reasonable service - required full payment on booking many months in advance. Slightly slow in returning deposit.

Oh dear. So sorry to hear you didn't like our payment terms. We ask for a deposit of 30% to confirm the booking which is standard practice in this industry and the balance 8 weeks prior to the holiday. It would be good to be able to offer flexible payment terms but we're contracted to pay the owners within certain timeframes.
As far as the security bond goes, owners have 7 days following a guests departure to notify us of an issue. If we've not heard from them by midnight on the 7th day, the bond gets released back to guests on the next working day. This means in reality it could fall on the 9th or 10th day depending on when the weekend falls. I'm really sorry if this hadn't been made clear to you and we will look at our paperwork to see how this can be better explained.

I've passed your comments onto the Estate Office and recommended they upgrade their broadband connection to unlimited wifi. In the meantime, I've asked they provide us with details of the charges so we can mention it on the website to avoid any surprises. I've also recommended they supply plenty of cleaning products for guests in future! Many thanks for your constructive feedback, it really helps everyone to continually improve. Glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday - the spiral staircase is most certainly a good workout!
My enquiries were dealt with speedily and the person I made contact with via e-mail was knowledgable and helpful.
