Beech looks wonderful all year round. In autumn the leaves turn brown when the plants become dormant for the winter. The plants hold onto these leaves and now the growing season has begun lots of healthy green leaves will have pushed through. Hi, Thank you very much for leaving your review. Its lovely to hear you are pleased with your Flowering Currant and I hope it is enjoying its new garden. Flowering Currant is a deciduous plant but is a good sign of the impending Spring as the striking crimson coloured flowers appear well in advance of the leaves. The flowers smell amazing and will attract lot of butterflies and bees and edible blue/black fruits in autumn will feed hungry birds. The Leylandii is an extremely fast growing, evergreen conifer hedge 🌲, that can grow up to 90cm per year and are perfect for extra privacy and screening. And your Cherry Laurels will knit together to create a beautiful dense evergreen hedge. During the spring they produce tiny white flowers that are popular with butterflies and bees and during winter they produce small red berries that hungry birds love. Hi, Thank you so much for leaving your review. You have chosen a wonderful mixture of plants and I hope they are settling into their new home. Portuguese Laurel is a beautiful evergreen plant that has glossy green leaves all year round. The small delicate flowers that bloom in the summer are extremely popular with butterflies and bees. Holly is a slow growing evergreen species. Hopefully, you have a mixture of male and female plants, which will ensure the female plants produce lots of berries in winter for you and these berries will attract lots of hungry birds. Western Red Cedar is a beautiful evergreen conifer It has dense foliage and the foliage is also aromatic and when crushed gives off a sweet fragrance. And Hawthorn is a native, deciduous species, so your plants will have lost their leaves during winter, but will now be in full leaf and will have flowered and will eventually produce berries. So extra wildlife should hopefully be coming into your garden soon. Hi, Thank you for your feedback. I am so pleased you are happy with your Wall Cotoneaster plants and I hope they are enjoying their new home. Wall Cotoneaster or Contoneaster horizontalis is deciduous but it is in the winter that it is most remarkable. It has a herringbone pattern of stems which form a basketweave structure, dripping with berries on its dark wood. In spring, its tiny leaves don't obscure the structure, and it develops white/pink tinged flowers, followed in autumn by red berries and in November, its leaves go bright pink/red. Rosa rugosa rubra will add colour and wildlife interest into a mixed hedge, or for its prickly deterrent quality. It has large pink flowers that smell amazing from June to September, followed by the largest hip of any wild rose - as large as a cherry tomato ! As per our emails I have arranged for 8 x replacements to be sent to you, so you can complete your Rosa Rugosa hedge. Pink Rosa Rugosa will add lots of colour and wildlife interest into a mixed hedge, or for its prickly deterrent quality. It has large pink flowers from June to September, followed by the largest hip of any wild rose - as large as a cherry tomato ! So extra wildlife should hopefully be coming into your garden soon.
