Always get an online quote for renewal

Got a letter out told me my insurance would be going up by £300 to £1593 from last year, went on as a new customer online, quoted me £963, decided to call customer service the best price they said...

The letter you received would have been based on the original premium, and also letting you know how the changes mid term would have effected your price.

Unfortunately there was quite a difference between the on line system and on our direct system, our prices should be the same on both systems which is why we reduced the premium to ensure the best price is offered to yourself.
