Here at the Post Office Shop, we take our Customer Experience very seriously and I must apologise for the poor levels of service you received on this occasion.
Due to the sensitive nature and monetary value of the missing stamps we have to be very diligent in our processes when damages are reported; this is why we requested that the damaged item was returned.
However, in light of your feedback, I have passed your comments onto our collectibles team and requested that they pursue this further and investigate alternative ways to check and ensure items are received in pristine condition.

Thank you for replying. Giving that I'd already waited the best part of three weeks to get this far I didn't have any confidence in your ability to resolve the matter quickly - this was a Christmas present remember - so I decided not to return the goods and buy some replacement stamps myself.
I have have said a number of times before the goods were NOT damaged. I received the sealed box in a perfectly good condition - the problem was that it had not been packed properly, so what returning it would have achieved I'm not sure. As regards the 'monetary value' of the stamps, I was able to buy a pack of 250 from Stanley Gibbons, the maker of collectors set, for about £5 and they were delivered in three days. They had no intrinsic value as stamps other than for entertainment purposes.
When somebody says they will contact me I don't expect to wait a week and have to ring again because they didn't do.
Therefore on reflection I stand by comments. The service I received has been poor. I won't be revising my rating.

Upon further investigation with Stanley Gibbons, it appears that the stock we have received from them is correct. However due to the inconvenience of not receiving stamps in your item and having to buy them yourself; we are going to refund you the £5 cost of the replacements stamps purchased.
Please accept my sincere apologies over the long delay, I accept that this was highly frustrating and we will endeavour to resolve any queries going forward in a more timely manner.
