I am very sorry for the delay in delivery, unfortunately our supplier failed to deliver on the initial date agreed with us, and passed onto yourself, re-arranging it 2 working days later without informing us. Of course you should not have had to chase us up after your initial phone call and we have this week changed our internal procedures. There is now a dedicated team in place for dealing with requests such as yours which we hope will eliminate the frustrating lack of information that you suffered. I'm very sorry for the problems you have experienced with this order. I believe that you have spoken with the sales manager regarding these issues and he is in the process of sorting them out, in particular refunding you the carriage charges as well as arranging delivery of the missing items. We will use this information to monitor and improve our services. We have spoken to our delivery driver regarding where he dropped off your decking. He has informed us that me that his crane would not have reached down the alley where you wanted the decking dropped off. He therefore left it in what he thought was the next best possible place in order not to block the garage entrance. The alley was situated on the other side of the dwarf wall separating the two properties and could only be entered from your neighbour's driveway, it was left as close to the entrance to the requested alley as was possible. Indeed he said that if it had been left in your driveway you would have still had to carry it over the wall and down the alley. Unfortunately we are only able to offer kerb-side delivery and our other option here would have been to return the decking to our warehouse and attempt re-delivery on another occasion. In such circumstances if we do not have instructions from the customer and are unable to contact them it is down to our driver's judgement as to what to do. He genuinely thought that he had made the best decision for both parties, however in this case he made the wrong choice and we can only say sorry. Kind Regards Condell Ltd Website Team
