The French Way is very well marked in general and the guidebook provided is one of the best available in English. Indeed the day into O Cebreiro is one of the toughest of the whole route and a split day is available, as indicated on our website. It is however a personal choice. From Rabanal to Ponferrada, there aren't many places where it would have been possible to book accommodation, unfortunately. I hope this helps.
