Instructions stress putting dowels in first layer before laying down base but should also stress not to do that for subsequent layers!
Perhaps a longer (one meter?) Bloc could help in addition to...

Incredibly patient and helpful with a difficult plan .
Customer service was good after I emailed due to non delivery on a Saturday ... I had paid for this service & was told I would receive a full refund of delivery charges, I haven't seen these yet but...
