I'm sorry to hear that. The wood is rustic so we try not to alter the surface too much away from the natural state, we do our best to retain the natural grain of each piece without taking too much away. Our products are hand made from natural materials so there will always be differences from one piece to the next, however if you feel the shelves aren't a close enough match we would appreciate if you could send us an image so we can look further into this for you.
