I'm so pleased that your enjoyed Il Palmento dei Castagni, which has plenty of Sicilian character. It's actually rather unusual to see volcanic ash falling, and quite an experience. That far down the volcano there is no danger at all as the ash is very fine (as you say) and it can be quite surreal to wake up to a fine dusting of black volcanic ash on the ground. It's fabulous for the vines too, and makes the wine from Etna quite unique! Max Lane Customer Services Manager
