Good morning Nigel, I’m sorry you were unhappy with our recent conversation and felt the need to leave a one-star review. To clarify matters, we have previously shipped orders to the Isle of Wight without issue. However, after receiving our courier invoices it became apparent that substantial surcharges were being applied to deliveries to your area, including an additional £25 charge on one of your previous orders. As you yourself pointed out in your earlier email, we had in fact already delivered another order to you previously, so there was clearly never any intention from our side to single you out or refuse business unfairly. The issue is purely the increasing courier costs involved. Unfortunately, more recent freight charges have now risen to the point where the carriage costs can exceed the value or profit within the order itself, which from a business perspective is simply not sustainable long term. Because of this, we explained that future orders may require a contribution towards the additional delivery costs rather than refusing service altogether. We have always tried to help where possible and historically absorbed these surcharges ourselves, but current courier pricing unfortunately makes that increasingly difficult. That said, we are still happy to review future orders in advance. If orders were combined with friends locally, or placed as a larger/substantial order, we may be able to make the shipping costs more viable and agree carriage charges beforehand.
