Thanks for the review. The new design will have 55% more inside seats, 2 new top deck lounges (one earmarked for families) and a new outside deck. One area will be marked as a quiet zone as we appreciate its nice to have some peace and quiet from time to time. More details are available at http://www.redfunnel.co.uk/newlook Pricing wise, if you can book early and avoid the busy sailings you can make some significant savings. If travelling frequently you may like to consider a Travel Card which offers discounts of up to 20%.

The outgoing ferry at 09.00 was so packed that passengers loaded on last had no seats, many had to sit on the floor. The ferry back at 18.00 was not much better.

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to be cheaper than our competitor and our route across the Solent is the longest. The cost per passenger/vehicle kilometer with Red Funnel is generally competitive with many UK & European short-sea routes, some of which are subsidised. Fares are cheaper if you can book ahead and avoid the popular sailing times but we appreciate this is not always possible.
