We completely understand your frustration, particularly as you had previously travelled with Shuttle Direct twice without experiencing any significant issues. We are sorry that this journey took considerably longer than you had anticipated and that the subsequent collection time caused further inconvenience.
We would, however, like to clarify that the transfer booked was a shared shuttle transfer. The 1–1.5 hour journey time quoted on our website applies to private transfers, whereas shared shuttle transfers can take longer depending on the number of passengers being collected and dropped off at different hotels and destinations. Unfortunately, this can make the overall journey time considerably longer than travelling directly by taxi or private vehicle.
We also appreciate that, having experienced a lengthy transfer on your outbound journey, receiving a collection time 4.5 hours before your flight was understandably disappointing. Shared transfers require additional time to accommodate other passengers and ensure everyone reaches the airport in sufficient time for their flights.
We are sorry for the frustration caused and appreciate your comments regarding the cancellation charge. We will ensure your feedback is passed to the relevant team, as we are always looking for ways to make the information provided at the time of booking as clear as possible.
