thank you for the review. The reason for the £10 charge was a £5 booking amendment fee applied + a £5 fare differential (the fare difference between the old and new sailing time). If the new sailing time had been the same price then only the £5 amendment fee would have been charged. Please email if this is at all unclear but in the meantime, thank you for travelling with us.

Unless there are exceptional circumstances determined by the Captain, guests are not permitted to remain in their vehicles during the crossing - this is a rule enforced by our regulatory body. I'm not sure whether you were travelling alone, but we do have wheelchairs available and it would have been possible for you to board/disembark via the passenger gangway thereby avoiding the car decks. We will review our procedures to ensure staff are consistent in their advice to customers in a similar position. In the meantime, I hope you are recovering well from your operation.
