Hi SylviaYou originally provided your feedback on TripAdvisor and our response was provided by our CEO.For completeness, the original response is provided below....Dear Sylvia,I am sorry to read your review and your disappointment. I am afraid though that we did our best for you and that we could actually not do anything else at all.You booked a land only package with us. The airline bit is something you looked after. In case of service issue, I am afraid we have A/ nothing to do with the issue - as you wrote it yourself - but B/ more importantly no authority to act on your behalf in this matter. We do not hold your airline booking details, your ID details etc that would allow them to communicate with the lost luggage holder.It happens if this happens at the airport and our transporter has the time that he will act as an interpret and help you move things forward.If as you wrote we gave you good advice and sympathy, that is simply all we can do.With regards to changing the reservation, again, this is an insurance issue. People who's luggage gets lost by the airline, might show up a few hours later, 24h later, sometime a bit more. In this case, you should continue your itinerary as planned as moving the reservation is A/ last minute and incur a fee and B/ Annual leaves have been booked already so they rarely are an option. If you are missing gear to walk, the airline should compensate you for that.We also recommend all along the booking process for our clients to get their own travel insurance. This scenario is usually cover and will cover the change fee if you wish or the purchase of new gear.I understand people want to save the usually relatively small fee a travel insurance cost but cannot take the blame because we are the operator who is easier to target on reviews sites.Please try and rate our service and our service only. That is what we are contracted for. We try to help on other matters but I find it inappropriate to get this rating for something we have nothing to do with.
Hotel choices were excellent, luggage transfers worked well. The country home we stayed one night was an awesome experience. Thank you for the memorable trip.

Thank you very much for providing feedback of your experience on the Camino Portuguese.
We note that you had a largely positive experience, however you felt letdown by our walking note directions at one stage, resulting in doubling back after some distance in order to reach your chosen hotel.
We are sorry that you found the walking notes somewhat outdated. This is always a challenge to keep directions 100% accurate as there are often minor route changes as a result of town/village councils altering the actual paths or signage.
Following your feedback, we actually sent a team member out to walk the route again and to update the notes. We have also launched a mobile app with directions being automatically taken from a mapping system, so this will make it even easier for our clients to navigate and avoid issues like yours in the future.
We would also like to thank you for including some lovely photographs from your trip.

Thank you for taking your time to provide this feedback.
We appreciate your honesty and are sorry that you felt that some of the accommodation choices were outdated.
I have discussed your feedback with our Sales Team and I understand there was one occasion where you didn't like the quality of the chosen hotel, so you decide to move to a different hotel and pay for that room. We noted your complaint at the time and arranged for your luggage transfer collection to be re-routed, we also provided your feedback to the hotel property in question.
At a later date in your journey, there was a delay by a different hotel making the requested room available to you. This was addressed quickly by our Reservations Team talking directly to the hotel management and the room issue was resolved - you also appreciated the bottle of wine left in the room to make up for the delay.
As you can understand, issues can arise in different hotel properties that are outside our control, however we ensure our staff manning the 24/7 emergency phone line contact the hotels directly and work until the issue is resolved to all parties satisfaction.
Once again, apologies for the issues above and thank you for your feedback.

You are correct that not all emails were received by you, typically that would all be sent to the person who made the booking and they would distribute to other group members as they see fit. We will look at changing this perhaps, so all travelers get all emails at the same time.
We take on board your observation about dinners, there should have been an earlier discussion about which days dinners should be included or not - since there is flexibility to meet any groups needs.
Perhaps we might see you back on the Camino at some point in the future.
