Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding your experience to date. We’d like to provide a bit of clarity around the support available to you.
Your Study Support Advisor, Bernadette, held a welcome call with you on 21st March, during which she ensured you had access to your introductory email and course information. She also confirmed your place on the group induction session scheduled for 25th March — a helpful session designed to guide you through the early stages of your studies. Unfortunately, you did not attend. We hold two induction sessions per month, and we’d strongly recommend it as a valuable way to get started. If you are unable to attend a group session, you can schedule a one-to-one at a time to suit you. Please refer back to your welcome email to book a place on an upcoming group or one-to-one session.
As you mentioned, Bernadette also tried to reach out recently to see how you're getting on and whether you needed any support. She left a voicemail inviting you to get back in touch if you required assistance, as we were aware you had not attended the induction or reached out for any support.
With regard to tutor support, it’s available on request whenever you need it, and this is highlighted in our CIPS brochures and by our Course Advisors. We also cover this in detail during the induction. After attending an induction, our CIPS learners receive an invitation to join a ZIPS session, hosted by their tutor as a formal welcome to their course. Tutors do not proactively contact you, as that is the responsibility of Bernadette and the other members of the support team. Instead, learners can schedule calls or sessions with their CIPS tutor for all academic support whenever required. All of this information is provided during your induction and in the communication that follows.
As mentioned above, your main contact who will reach out to you is your Study Support Advisor, Bernadette. We’d recommend returning her recent voicemail at your earliest convenience so you can take full advantage of the unlimited support included in your package.
