Thank you for your comments. Most radios work straight out of the box but sometimes if there is electrical "noise" in the cockpit the squelch needs to be adjusted. Hope it is working well now.

If the D1 unit is mounted in the cockpit area, the built in antenna should work in most aircraft,if it is mounted in the panel then you may have to use the external antenna which is supplied with the unit.
