If the D1 unit is mounted in the cockpit area, the built in antenna should work in most aircraft,if it is mounted in the panel then you may have to use the external antenna which is supplied with the unit.

We asked Garmin for their comments;
"We have tried to answer some of your queries belowIn regards to the aera 795, due to the document viewer, and for green, environmental reasons, Garmin decided to provide an electronic version of the pilots guide. This is also freely available on our website as a download or to be viewed online. Including this as a printed manual in the box would increase the price of the product, the decision to keep the cost as low as possible was also a factor in making the document electronic. The Quick Reference Guide is provided with the unit as a standalone printed item for key operational features. Aviation Product Support is also always available should customers have any questions they cannot answer when using the pilots guide."

Bare wire / cig lighter adaptor
If you would prefer the bare wire we could swop it over for you, just ask. The standard pkg contains the cig lighter which presumably is what most people want.
