Very enjoyable week Weather was good for walking, no rain. Hotel was very impressive from the outside set in beautiful grounds but a terrible disappointment inside. Very tired, smelt of old people, needs a complete refurbishment. Food was very mixed but soup was usually good. Bedrooms were not very clean, the carpet had stains on it and the bed linen smelt. Pity there was not a bar in the hotel for socialising! Christian Guild hotel fine if you are religious but on a walking holiday don't think anyone wanted to worship!! Strange ambience! The staff were very pleasant but you felt that they were very aware of the tattiness of the property.
