Dear Customer, The test does need a 1 large drop of blood. The provided instruction do explain this and how to prepare the finger to allow good blood flow at the finger tip before the finger prick. After the finger prick, one can also gently massage with the thumb towards the finger until a large drop of blood appears out. It is (only) now that the capillary tube is supposed to be used to collect the sample and deliver in to the testing well. If less than desired blood sample is collected and delivered in to the testing well and one then tries getting more blood then there is good possibility that the initial blood sample will dry-out in testing well. Or, if the test is activated with less than desired quantity then again it won't give correct readings. Like any medical test or a chemical reaction, the quantity of the sample procured is very important. best regards Four Square Healthcare
