Our Travel Insurance does include cover for Valuables under Section 7 - Baggage, which includes cover for items such as computers, audio and visual equipment and tablets, but only up to a single article limit of £250 and an overall limit for Valuables (as defined) of £500. Many other travel insurance policies will exclude cover altogether for Gadgets.
We do also offer an option for Gadget cover that provides higher cover limits for such items as tablets, laptops and cameras but only up to a maximum of £750 any one item and £2,000 overall, which is still too low for your particular laptop. Travel insurance policies are designed to provide relevant coverage for the typical traveller and their belongings and I am afraid that we are not able to extend cover for such a high value item.
Typically, one might expect these to be insured year-round, perhaps as a specified item on a home insurance or All Risks policy and these often provide cover for certain periods whilst outside the UK as standard or available as an option.

When taking out a travel policy, as per the Terms & Conditions of the policy, we have a medical declaration that must be completed. These questions assess whether or not it is necessary to complete a Medical Screening and must be carried out every year.
If you do not wish to complete a medical screening, or do not wish to pay an additional premium to cover pre-existing medical conditions (if applicable), you can purchase a policy excluding pre-existing conditions.
However, it is worth noting that by choosing to exclude pre-existing conditions there will be no cover available for claims related directly or indirectly to these conditions.
Medical conditions can change year on year, which is why it is necessary to complete a new medical declaration with each policy.
We hope this goes some way to explaining our process and we wish you many happy trips over the coming year.
