A minor correction: The model is a CT56 not CT16.
I have had several interactions over several hours with several members of the Panasonic Support staff and their diversion to 'someone uncontactable approach' was consistently bad throughout.
The case is on its way to be resolved as they have agreed to a free return and refund of the appliance purchased directly from them and also agreed to refund the third party retailer for the second appliance who weren't to blame at all..
it is my belief that Panasonic UK have only agreed to resolve it as the alternative was legal proceeding that I had already commenced and reminding them of their legal obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
I have a written record of the misrepresentation provided to me by Panasonic UK Customer Support. The case was clear cut nearly two weeks ago.
my advice remains the same. Don't deal with Panasonic UK as their products are poor and their customer support is almost non-existent.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your message and I am sorry to hear that the bread maker arrived damaged.
Unfortunately, despite our best attempts to pad the product inside the box with fitted polystyrene and cardboard holders, if they are mishandled during transportation, damages can occur to it.
The return process requires the gathering of the full address where the product is to be picked up from because nowadays, many people order the product to their work place and in these cases the address on the order would differ from the one where the product is used, usually at home.
We are trying to make sure that we do not cause any further frustration with incorrect details that might cause delays in the return process.
As I can see, the process for the return of the product is ongoing and my colleagues are waiting for your response regarding the days/timeframe when you would be at home to hand the parcel over to the courier.
In case you have not received their message from last week, please call us at 0344 844 3899 and let my colleagues know so that we can send out the delivery company as soon as possible.
Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience and I hope that there will be no further delays in the remaining process.
