Magnolia trees, especially bare root varieties like the one you purchased, can take time to establish. It’s completely normal for them to remain dormant and show little to no visible growth until the following spring after planting. Additionally, it's worth noting that magnolias typically take at least a couple of years before producing their first flowers.
