Haemolysis refers to the breakdown of red blood cells within the blood sample, which can release cellular contents into the surrounding plasma. This can interfere with the accuracy of several blood test results, rendering them unsuitable for analysis. It is a relatively common occurrence, particularly when blood samples are transported over long distances, and I would like to reassure you that this is not a cause for concern regarding your personal health.
