Unfortunately base plates are different, so any old base plate would need to be removed regardless of the thermostat compatibility, although the connections are the same and compatible with your old DEVI 550. It is compatible, but the compatibility also refers to the existing floor sensor/probe. If you need any clarification, help or advice we are happy to help, please call us on 01473 559087. If you have not spoken to our technical advice already, I thought that I would on your behalf in hope to satisfy anyone else including yourself with any answers. The Devireg 530 is a manual floor sensing thermostat which is designed for flush mounting. If it’s to be used for surface mounting then a surface box would have to be purchased separately as previously mentioned the 530 is as a flush mounted thermostat. If room sensing is also required then the Devireg 532 is the correct product, again this is a flush mounted thermostat. Hannah Boother Customer Service Manager
