thanks for getting in touch to let us know about your experience with amending your booking.  I am very sorry to see that you you needed to amend your booking due to an emergency and that your expectations during this process was not met. 

From looking into the details, you had originally booked this online. During the initial booking process, there is  a cancelation waiver you can purchase for £7.95. We offer this so our guests have the option to cancel up to 36 hours before the arrival date, with no charge other than the cost of the waiver itself and any credit card surcharges.

I do apologise if this was not overly clear for you at the time of booking. 

With regards to the additional charge of £47 for the new booking, This was down to the date you amended to being a little more than your original date. 

I do hope that despite having to amend your booking, you and your family had a wonderful time at the Alton Towers Resort.
