Hi James,
We work with the Sold Secure industry standard for bicycle locks. Sold Secure conduct thorough testing of a huge variety of different locks, and approved locks are awarded a Bronze/Silver/Gold/Diamond security rating depending on how well they stand up to testing.
Our requirements are based on the value of the insured bike. Please see the requirements below.
Bike value under £250 - Bronze Rating
Bike value £251- £1500 - Silver Rating
Bike value over £1500 - Gold or Diamond Rating
If your bike was left unattended in public and an appropriately rated lock was not used, unfortunately it would not be protected for theft.
