Further to the recent renewal of your Motor Trade Insurance policy, may we thank you for the feedback that you have provided. All feedback from our customers is very important to us, as we can establish how they feel about us as a company, the products that we offer and the service that we provide. Despite your feedback being partly positive, you have noted an issue regarding your vehicles not appearing as insured. I have since investigated your policy and the steps taken by our insurer’s at renewal/inception and can now confirm the following. Every insurer will have delays when transmitting vehicles to Experian and the Motor Insurance Database (MID). On this occasion despite the policy being a renewal, the same delays will and have occurred. With all policies sold, we cannot guarantee that the vehicles will be showing as covered on the MID within the first 7 days of inception. Unfortunately these delays are caused by no fault of us or the insurers, but by Experian who update the MID. Nothing would make us happier than to have the vehicles showing as insured immediately from renewal but regrettably, this is not a possibility at this time. Once outside of this 7 day period, if you add a vehicle to the policy mid-term then it will transmit over night and should be showing on the MID within 24 hours. I apologise if this was not made clear to you at inception and as a gesture of good will, a £25 discount has been applied to your account which can be used towards renewal of your policy for 2015. I have also arranged for your certificate of insurance to be emailed to you. Hopefully you can save this to your phone or can print a copy which you can carry with you. I appreciate that it is inconvenient having to prove to the Police that your are insured, but hopefully outside of this 7 day window, you will not have similar problems.
