service excellent - only comment is the paint finish suggested for doors does not match after 6 months as it has darkened and the doors are obviously the same colour. So chiffon white 4 is not a good...

Good Afternoon Many thanks for your feedback. I have now reviewed the notes on your order which was delivered in December 12. Firstly you did indeed report an issue with the condition of your delivered doors. Selling in excess of 20,000 doors per year it is inevitable, but not acceptable, that sometimes damage can occur in transit. We acknowledged this unfortunate issue and provided you with a refund to compensate you for this, which you agreed to. With regards your issue with handles/latches, it is my understanding that we provided you with upgraded, heavy duty, latches completely free of charge (March 13) as a good will gesture. This issue was due to the fact that the handles that you had chosen were unsprung and the standard latch springs were not strong enough to operate it. Hopefully this now clarifies the situation, however if you feel you would like to discuss this further, please do contact us or mail me directly on marketing@todd-doors.co.uk. Firstly you did not "refund me" you reluctantly gave me a minor amount of money back as a form of compensation which took some persuasion , given the amount I spent with you I would have thought the attention to detail would have been better. Indeed I did agree to this as I had already paid a carpenter to attend and did not want to suffer further losses by having to cancel him. Considering the doors were glazed at your showroom/workshop by your staff (paperwork to prove) you cannot blame direct delivery. I install well in excess of 20.000 parts (all visible) per annum and have never had a a customer complain- good staff training and being bothered is always a good start. You state (march 13) when you provided me with replacement latches like its a battle trophy being 3 months in to the order- it was a problem I identified with you from the beginning of the installation (January) it took 3 months of backwards and forwards via telephone for you to even consider sending them so please don't attempt to use the time line as a reason. Before the replacement latches was sent I had asked for the dimensions of them, when they were given I explained that they were far larger than the original ones supplied and as the doors had already been fitted would ruin the doors but you sent them anyway and then told me to source my own once they arrived. Don't try the "you should have checked 1st approach either- the door is always fitted before the latch/handle ironmongery and as a door and ironmongery supplier you failed badly in both customer service and product knowledge. You made me look silly in front of a customer, and more to the point put my reputation on the line. By all means feel free to come back with another barrage of convenient excuses but otherwise I HOPE THIS CLARIFIES THE SITUATION !

Oh and your statistics are showing nearly 25% negative feedback, this means that one in every four, 1/4 of the people that has taken this survey so far are unsatisfied !

Good Morning Once again we can only apologise for your experience shopping with us and will use your situation as a case study to try to avoid these situations arising in the future. I am sorry that you felt it your only option to to accept our refund on the doors, however we do state on our order paperwork that a Carpenter should not be booked before receiving and checking all goods. To clarify our delivery, I have never suggested a direct delivery, I merely stated that when you deliver in excess of 20,000 doors per year it is inevitable, but not acceptable, that sometimes damage can occur in transit - In all instances we would try to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. I have had another look at the notes on your order, with particular regard to your latches, and I can see nothing that suggest prior to March 13 that you had raised this issue with us, at which point we provided you with free of charge replacements. Once again we are sorry that these replacements did not meet your expectation but can assure you that these upgraded products do work perfectly with your chosen handles. I know that this doesn't help you but we have now recruited 2 further Carpenters who, in these kind of situations, would be sent to site to rectify issues like this. You are correct that a door is "swung" in its frame prior to fitting the handles etc. however nobody is trying to suggest that you did anything wrong in this instance. Our Door Experts are very knowledgeable and I would be surprised to hear any of them suggesting that ironmongery is fitted prior to swinging the door. Finally, as we all know, a consumer is far more likely to utilise a review site to air their grievances rather than for giving praise. I am confident that the percentage of happy customers far out ways the percentage of unhappy ones, however we will always strive to improve both our product offering and services, hence us using this independent review site to gather valuable feedback. I hope I have provided you with a satisfactory response, although I personally wish it had been sooner. Kind Regards marketing@todd-doors.co.uk
