You can take either the 35 feet or the 39 feet, I personally tend to buy slightly bigger item when it comes to " middle size" like your case, at least I can use the sleeping bag for longer time, but I have customer that prefer to have a perfect size sleeping bag because they do not like to have it slightly bigger.
Essentially, we have given you the information to make an informed decision for your child's size. When a child is in the middle of the size range, it is impossible for us to give an exact size due all children being different and whether you are looking for something to last longer, which is the options the customer service agent gave you.
The response you posted in your review is not the chain of responses and does not show all the information given, therefore, could be misleading in a review.
