We have checked your file and the price you paid for your cover was for a short duration in the USA and Canada that included wintersports and was for a traveller who had already departed the UK and who had travelled uninsured. Whilst we had policies that were cheaper, none of them covered travellers who were already abroad, uninsured and this policy was the only one we had available and the price paid reflects the extra risk to the insurer. The best option for the future is to buy a policy before you depart as that will open you up to a lot of other, more cost-effective options
