The order was placed on a Sunday and next day delivery paid for. I half expected that this would not mean the package would be delivered on Monday, but there was no information is this was the case...
OK saved me a trip to buy them but very slow to deliver by today's I/net sales standards.

I can see from the information on your order that you selected our Royal Mail Standard Delivery option.
We do state on our Delivery Information page that orders placed using this delivery method can take 3 - 5 working days in order to reach customers.
If your order did not arrive during this timeframe, then please contact our customer service department who will be able to look into this further for you.

Thanks for your reply. I am sorry to say I don't have a written record of the delivery date so can't/ won't pursue further. You may well be correct regarding having met the 3-5 day window. I acknowledge that this had been my first purchase order and I did need one stamp urgently!
That said, I remain astonished that you can't send an envelope containing 4 x 12 postage stamps in anything other an envelope with a 1st class stamp. That would have taken 2 days max. As it is, I'd paid £2.99 for p&p and feel that was excessive for the service provided. I live in a village with limited physical mobility & in my 70s so do all my shopping on the internet. Some suppliers even of bigger items are faster than the Post Office online. I accept you may have many other factors at play in your business one of which is your 9-5 operation whereas others work throughout the 24 hour day. Another, maybe, is the profit margin you are operating with. So, why not give me the additional option of 1st class postage (even at my having to assume any risk of non-delivery). If passports and driving licences and bank cards are dispatched this way why not £30 worth of stamps? Someone at your end should be re-evaluating your business model with a view to raising your standards to 'best in class'....you are after all in charge of the delivery process! On a positive note I now have a better appreciation of what the term "snail mail" means.

P.S. Suggestion: why can't you consider the possibility of transfering an order such as mine to the nearest local Sorting Office and get their postman to deliver stamps with the mail delivery. You would then credit them with the envelope & stamps cost. Don't tell me....the union wouldn't wear it!

Thank you for your feedback. Please accept my apologies that your order did not arrive when you expect.
I have taken a look at your order for you to try and resolve this and I can see that your order was placed at 19:25 on 08/02/2018. As per our delivery information, our next working day delivery service is only available for orders placed before 6pm.
Any orders placed after this time will be delivered the next available working day, which in the case of your order was Monday 12/02/2018. I can see that our courier service completed this delivery on the expected date for you.

"Next day delivery" should mean just that. You should not allow your computer to offer it to people after 6 o'clock if that is your cut off. You took my money and did not deliver, you made more money for a promise you were unable to keep.
Items not all in stock, and items not even delivered by the post office, but UPS! Another example of a hollowed out former public service.

Unfortunately we may occasionally run out of stock of an item which means that we are only able to dispatch a certain amount before the product has to go on back order while we await more stock from our supplier. As soon as we receive more stock, the remainder is sent out as quickly as possible which is why your order was delayed slightly.
