To respond to a couple of your specific comments - PRINCE2 is an industry agnostic, globally used, best practice framework. As such, the e-learning course has to be generic. It can, however, be booked as an in-house classroom course for multiple people in your company, at which point some of the content can be tailored to provide real-world and relevant examples to that specific company and industry. The exam is set by the examining institute and IP owner, Peoplecert. The Foundation certification has always been set as a closed book exam, while the Practitioner has always been open book using the official course manual.
