We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience with Globehunters and we regret any inconveniences this issue might have brought to you. This is certainly not the level of customer service that we expect for our customers. We would request you to understand that the cancellation made by the airline was due to a natural disaster - it is out of Globehunters and the Airline's control. We took the time in offering you an alternative as per the advice by the airline. Since your booking was partially used (inbound had already flown), the Airline is responsible for arranging an alternative flight for you and we have to go by their rules and their advice. Concerning your refund, this is calculated by the Airline's Refunds Team, not us. This is because, as mentioned above, you have already used part of the ticket. We as a travel agency do not dictate refund amounts on partially used tickets - Airlines do. We would be only able to advise on a round-trip fare in case of normal cancellation(voluntary cancellation). Once a ticket is used, the airline refund will calculate the ratio of the fare that was used and how much will be refunded (if any). With regards to the refund time, we have quoted you the standard advised time of 8-10 weeks. If the refund is issued from the airline/our suppliers sooner, we will be more happy to inform you about it. But we would like to take the opportunity to advise that we did not take any action without your prior authorization. Once again we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Our website picks up the best available fares available through the airline fare distribution system. The airline system broadcasted a "hand baggage only" fare for your booking, which was picked and booked for your reservation. With regards to the booking you have made, we always show baggage-related information on our website under the tab “More information”. If the passenger has not seen the information on the website, we send the confirmation email with the attached Itinerary under the title “Meal and Luggage”. We also have dedicated a team to who will call/send an email to passengers to check if are aware of this. We give adequate time to all the passengers to call us or email us with how they wish to proceed. This was not an up-sell on our behalf - more so as an extension of customer service so that you are fully aware of the limitations of the fare offered for your reservation. We as travel agents have a time-limit to process the reservations. If you had asked for your booking to be canceled, we could have done it for you too. We would like to apologize again for the issue that has cropped up, but as a travel agency, our options are limited as our website picks up the lowest fare available and then provides it to the passenger who makes a search for it. Your feedback has also been shared with the Manager of the representative who attended your call and would try to ensure that this is not repeated in the future.
