Good Morning and thank you for your review. I am sorry that you have found the bed frame to be like this and wish you had called us.The plastic slat caps need to be flexible to move with the slats and when hammered in with the slats connected will go in easily as described in the instructions. Had I known that you did not have the instructions I would of emailed over a PDF immediately to solve the problem.I have posted some of these to you today along with the instructions. The delivery was delayed as we had switched to a different courier company and this was a paperwork error on our side and do apologies for this. Jamie
