This was dealt with by our most senior management immediately on being advised by the sales agent of the call. Your mother was given the suppliers number to call but was advised that due to Data Protection we can only deal with the lead passenger. Our suppliers were notified immediately of the issue in resort and according to the recorded notes and their feedback, the family were contacted immediately and alternative accommodation found on the same day with an upgrade in board basis as compensation for any inconvenience. It is unfortunate that we were not advised prior to departure of the overbooking. We do regret any inconvenience but would appreciate your understanding in that this was a matter over which we had no control and are legally bound to follow correct protocol.

OK until we had a problem, then bad. We were advised to ring up to put our complaints through, then told we shouldn't have rung up, and had to compain by email to conform with some rules. I even offered to come to Stockport to get my complaint registered and was told I wouldn't be able to deliver anything as it's all behind security doors!! General confusion, not professional.

We do apologise for being incorrectly advised that that complaints may be handled verbally. All complaints must be handled in writing.
However, having read the original complaint we note the hotel moved all their guests, not just those of Holiday Gems, due to a technical error, details of which we were not privy, and that alternative accommodation was found for all guests. The complaint was resolved in 8 weeks well within the industry norms and consider the £89.00 compensation by the suppliers reasonable for a 3 night city break
