This hook is actually made from malleable iron which is a special process Kirkpatrick use to greatly strengthen the iron by annealing it which makes it as strong as steel. The hook is from a pattern which is over 150 years old and has been cast in a truly traditional way. No corners have been cut, it is purely the design of this hook.
