Thank you for your feedback regarding the 1 Day Kangaroo Island Experience Tour. We are sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy the tour. This tour is designed for people who have limited time to visit Kangaroo Island. We certainly do recommend that if you have the time, it is best to allow a minimum of 2 days but preferably more, to have plenty of time to really appreciate Kangaroo Island. On this one day tour we visit many of the major iconic highlights of Kangaroo Island such as Seal Bay and the Flinders Chase National Park. This requires the coach to travel from one end of the island to the other and when you consider Kangaroo Island’s size (155km long), there is a fair amount of travel that needs to occur including travel to/from Adelaide to the island.
The guided walk at Seal Bay is conducted by a local Park Ranger and they are very strict about not getting too close to the sea lions. Even with our smaller tour groups, we cannot get close to the seals unless they approach us. Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately operated business and the fee is a very small part of the tour price and we are sorry that you thought it was a joke. The total price of this tour includes return coach travel from Adelaide, return ferry passage, touring in a luxury coach, a BBQ lunch and all entrance fees including national park fees.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the coach’s air conditioning unit which unfortunately malfunctioned while out on tour. We are also sorry to hear your comments regarding dinner, as the ferry does offer food on board if guests are unable to purchase food in the town prior to boarding. We are glad, however, to hear that you enjoyed the wonderful sights of Kangaroo Island. Please note, we do have other touring options for smaller groups which are also very popular.
