Thank you for your kind words regarding the service of Scotts Castle Holidays. I understand that the boiler went out during your stay and that it was re-lit once you informed the owners. Whilst this was unlucky - it was dealt with swiftly. As for the mouse, it is an occupational hazard with holiday houses that are not always occupied. Thank you for your feedback and further to our conversation, I’m sorry you found our requirement to bank a security bond unreasonable. Should you wish to return to MacDuff again, we’d be happy to ask the owner if she’d consider offering to waive or receive the bond from you herself. We prefer not to receive the bond any more than 7 days up to the holiday start date. We offer this service for the benefit of owners and clients for FREE with a guaranteed 7 day return for online debit/credit payments. Cheque & bank transfers are accepted but take longer to return which we advise in our literature. Most agencies letting large holiday houses of this nature require a security bond, generally payable to the owners direct. We feel holding it ourselves provides a measure of security guests may otherwise not enjoy. Vicky
