We do advise from the enquiry stage that a security deposit is payable 7 days prior to a holiday and refunded 7 days after the holiday end. Whilst the security deposit is retained for 7 days, upon request we are always very happy to contact an owner to request if the amount can be returned earlier than usual.

Whilst the security deposit is retained for 7 days, upon request we are always very happy to contact an owner to request if the amount can be returned earlier than usual. I am sorry you found your bank charges to be excessive, unfortunately we have no control over external charges brought by banks and third party providers, but we can accept payment by sterling cheque or debit card, which do not attract a fee. Had we known your payment would incur extra costs for you, we would have been happy to ask the owner if they had the facility to collect the security deposit direct upon arrival which would have had less charges for you. We are also very happy to accept payments over the telephone if guests would prefer this service to using the website. Hope this helps and look forward to helping with future holiday plans.
