Please be aware at PiggyBank we value our repeat customers who decide they need further help. However as a responsible lender we will always ensure that our correct checks are carried out on each application as we want to ensure that our high levels of forbearance are maintained.
We’ll always try and give you a reason or explanation of some sort at the time your loan is declined. Some of the common reasons you may get declined for a PiggyBank loan are:
We ran a credit check and your credit score isn't high enough for our criteria
We didn’t feel you would be able to afford the loan based on what you told us about your income and expenses
We weren’t able to match up your personal details to a credit file
We couldn’t match your card details to an active bank account
You already have an existing PiggyBank loan that hasn’t been paid off yet

As a responsible lender, we conduct thorough credit and affordability checks on every new application we receive. These checks are just as thorough if someone is borrowing from us for the first time or for the fifth time.
Please be aware, if a customer has previously paid back a loan on time this will improve their trust score with PiggyBank. However, for each new application, we do have to complete the relevant credit and affordability checks. If an application is unsuccessful, it would mean that at this time the individual did not meet our current responsible lending criteria.
However if you do still need help in the future, you can reapply after 14 days of the date of an application being unsuccessful. If you continue to have an issue updating bank details, please call an advisor on 01202 472980.
