I notice you purchased the 3x model, 15112, which has a 60mm diameter lens. There are two other models with larger rectangular lenses, model 15113 and 15114 which you could try if the user continues to struggle.

There is also a stand available for the mobilux which will overcome having to hold the magnifier. This is an optional accessory which you can purchase. Here is the link: https://www.pepleroptics.com/index.php/eschenbach-mobase.html

There is a small hole at the end of the handle which is designed to take a thread for the wrist or neck.

Thank you very much indeed for your response. I was immensely reassured by your concern and advice. Now that the elderly person has been using the magnifier for a week it seems my worries were unnecessary. She has worked out to turn the light on and off, to hold the magnifier at an appropriate distance from the page and - so far - hasn't lost it! She is thrilled with it and shows it off to visitors. However, I will remember your advice, and if difficulties arise as time goes by I will follow it. Thank you again.
