Alder, Field Maple and Rowan are all native, deciduous species and will have lost their leaves in autumn, so your plants will have been looking rather sorry for themselves when they arrived. What a great choice you made, Rowan are not just loved by humans but the abundant autumn berries are highly popular with birds who enjoy the juicy berries as a food source.
