I am sorry that you experienced difficulties in retrieving your original quotation.
I believe that as the quote was for an annual policy the reason you were unable to retrieve it would have been because the start date you selected for your policy was in the past by the time you tried to retrieve the quote.
Our quotes are valid for 30 days unless the start date has passed. This is to ensure that we don’t issue cover to someone who has already left the UK.
I do apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused you and also apologise that you did not receive the call back you were promised.

I can understand your reason for cancelling a quote from the day that I said I wanted it to start but are you going to do anything to amend your systems so that you do not mislead people again. I have it quite clearly in writing (and that of course can be construed as forming the basis of a contract) that the quote was valid for 30 days. There was no mention that it was only valid until the proposed start date.
Also I would be interested to know why the second quote was so much higher than the first. I am certain that I gave all the same, correct, information both times.
