Thank you for your feedback on the South Section of the Wye Valley Walk. This is probably the tamer half of the complete trail, especially the section through the borders, focusing on a softer bit of countryside, so I can see why it might not quite match the character of the trails you’ve completed with us before – they’re pretty uniformly epic! I’m glad the latter half of the walk, which feels most in touch with the River Wye itself in the Wye Valley National Landscape, came through for you in the end. I'm sorry to hear about the long diversion you encountered. Route revisions are most regularly updated on the official Wye Valley Walk website, which we link to in our Holiday Pack, and are most illustratively displayed on their interactive map: https://www.wyevalleywalk.org/walk Regarding your comments on the quality of the inns along the way, we’d be very interested in any specifics you can provide.
