Thank you for your feedback. In France, the Police arrange the recovery of your vehicle, you are obliged to use Statutory Recovery vehicles and a charge is unavoidable. There is no legal alternative.
When you were presented with the quote and our table on the website, which is replicated here http://www.comparebreakdowncover.co.uk/compare-single-trip-european-breakdown-cover.aspx (you were only shown Drive-365 due to the age of your vehicle). Reimbursement of statutory European motorway recovery fees are shown as 'No Cover' whereas our other policies (not available to you) reimburse these. In addition, on Page 1 of our Policy Wording, less than half-way down the page, it states under What is Not Covered' - 'assistance or recovery from certain A roads/motorways in Europe. (Please call 112 for assistance, any charges incurred from the Highway Authority for the removal of Your Vehicle from these locations are non-refundable)'.
These exclusions are prominantly displayed and you completed a declaration to confirm that you had read the Policy Wording.
You have not contacted us at CBC before regarding this matter and if you would like to provide us with the date of the call and the name of the person at Drive-365 that you have implicated in providing you with incorrect information about the refund of these fees then we will galdly look into this matter for you. Please contact us at customer.service@comparebreakdowncover.co.uk
Many thanks
