We are sorry that several aspects of the trip fell short. The pressure you experienced to purchase from local traders and to pay frequent gratuities is not acceptable, and we understand how uncomfortable this must have been within such a small group. It is also regrettable that the Optional Excursions were not offered, and that you and your fellow travellers were left without a representative in Cairo and obliged to make your own arrangements. Your comments on the overnight train to Aswan are taken very seriously, and we will review whether it should remain the only route offered. We are very sorry to learn that there was no reservation waiting for you at the pre-night hotel, and that airport transfers were not provided, leaving you reliant on unreliable taxis and ride-hailing services on arrival. We also recognise your concern that your Travel Director did not remain with the group after the first day, that there were too many handovers to different people during the trip, and that no member of staff accompanied you on the sleeper train to Aswan in case of an emergency. The noise, the number of stops and the lack of functioning toilets on the train fell well short of what you were entitled to expect, and we regret that this left you so disappointed with the accommodation and service overall.
