Having spoken to you on the phone, we have been unable to establish conclusively which company you spoke to when you tried to contact the airline through directory enquiries to query the visa requirements - the airline itself doesn’t currently have a UK office or contact telephone number.
Our company is an online travel agency, and we always strongly recommend that customers check with the embassies of the countries they are travelling to / through, in order to obtain the most authoritative and up to date information on immigration requirements.
We are sorry once again that the arrangements you booked didn’t run as smoothly as you, or we, would have liked on this occasion.
